The BMW MOA Foundation sponsored the Motorcycle Safety
Foundation's "Experienced Riders' Course" at the BMW MOA's International
Rally in Vermont. The ERC is designed to help riders with some experience -
or quite a lot of experience - hone their physical motorcycle-operations
skill, and dust the cobwebs off the crucial safety and survival "mental
strategies" of operating a motorcycle on the highways and byways.
The course lasted 5-6 hours, and was conducted completely on the
range. Thanks to the financial support of the Foundation and the efforts of volunteers, students paid a nominal fee of $40 for the ERC. Riders used their personal motorcycles, which were subject to mandatory inspection prior to the course
